Jensen Beach– The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast celebrated the return of its annual ShipWrecked event on Saturday, August 27, 2022 with a fun adults only party at the Museum. The Museum was decked out in true island style with guests dressed in spectacular pirate, castaway, and mermaid attire. Attendees enjoyed delicious cuisine provided by many local restaurants, drinks and cocktails from Atoll Vodka and Notorious PINK Wines, as well as live music by Hawk-Eye Entertainment.
Prior to the event, local celebrities were captured as “Castaways” and stranded on an island. Each castaway raised at least $1,000 to be rescued and join the party and pirate-themed games. Top fundraising castaway, Tracy Armstrong and her fellow island mate, Chris Vaccaro sold beer out of fun coconut cups. Castaway Kathy Carmody once again raffled off one of her famous cakes. Tara Biek-Robison raffled a wine cooler full of delicious wines. Christina Franco offered a luxury stay-cation. Kristi Brown put together a fun castaway-themed basket. Guests were entertained with card games like blackjack and war with Castaways Pete Morello and Zac Rockefeller. Additional castaways Paul Hendriks, Jamie Russell, Tom Whittington and Rosi Shepard made donations before the event to rescue themselves. All Castaways raised money for specific exhibit elements that will soon be installed in the Museum. The Children’s Museum appreciates and extends a huge thank you to all castaways and their rescue crew donations.
Special attendees included Virginia Snicki from the Kevin, Virginia, and Jason show on WRMF. “”I LOVE the Children’s Museum and this fun event. My son, who is seven years old, is its biggest fan, so we always come here. Whatever I can do to help this amazing facility, I will do. I’m honored to support their work for this community.” Bravo celebrities Adrienne Gang from the 1st season of Below Deck and Kerry Titheradge, the Captain of the next season of Below Deck were also in attendance. “ShipWrecked at The Children’s Museum was by far the best group of pirates, mermaids, and sailors I’ve ever had the chance to meet. It was great to do something so special for the children of the Treasure Coast. Can’t wait till next year! Arrrrhhh you going to be there?”, said Adrienne Gang.
The purpose of this event was to allow adults to experience and enjoy the fun of the Children’s Museum and raise funds for new exhibits. This year’s event raised over $25,000; our most successful ShipWrecked event yet!
