The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast hosted its second Glitter & Glam Gala, a Jungle Safari themed event, at the exclusive Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club Saturday night and it was a roaring success.  Guests were greeted by a live tiger, zebra and giraffe, not real live animals but performers Pete, Samantha and Colleen were outfitted and painted from head to toe to entertain and take photos with guests upon arrival.  As the guests continued their entrance they were able to walk through a jungle themed lush rain forest full of plants and trees delivered by Leighton Farms.

This year the event had some unexpected surprise guests!  Ashleigh Walters with WPTV Channel 5 News, Master of Ceremonies, introduced special guest Stephen Lapore, AKA Mr. Hollywood who captured the audience with his personal journey after being diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. Doctors predicted Stephen would never speak but today he is an inspiring businessman and entrepreneur.  All guests went home with unique handmade animal shaped soaps, made by Stephen, a true soap star!

The Glitter Glam Squad, led by Colleen Holmes and Kathy Carmody, is thrilled to announce that the event raised over $125,000. “The Museum is truly overwhelmed by the level of support we received this evening. We are very excited to announce that all of the proceeds from the silent and live auction will bring new exhibits to the museum starting with a Race Car Simulator opening this Fall and a new fire station opening Winter 2022.” says Tammy Calabria, Executive Director. The Children’s Museum would like to give a huge round of applause to our jungle superstar supporters Marsha & Mike Cetta, McCarthy, Summers, Wood, Norman, Melby & Schultz, PA, Ellie Termine, Evie & Steve Klaassen with Colorado Pawn & Jewelry, Tracy Armstrong & Chris Clifford, C2 Equipment Rental, Carole & Pete Kozloski, Dr. Richard & Janice Berger, Mike & Lety Atieh, William and Audrey Crandall, PACE 2000, Kibbey Wagner, Leighton Farms, The Lahowchic’s, Paula and Jeff Chamberlin with SLC Commercial Realty and Baron Graphics. The Museum would also like to thank Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club for their superior service. They truly made the event special; Chef Robert even created a hand-made chocolate Monkey that accompanied the sinfully wonderful dessert. Thank you to all of the wild guests who supported and attended the 2021 Glitter & Glam Gala!
